This is the first time that I have visited the art museum since COVID began. An out of town friend wanted to go together.
There were some old favorites, but lots of new pieces to see. “Mapping Black Identities” is ongoing on the second floor galleries.

This work is stunning. The quilt work is professional, colorful and a powerful work of art. The expressions of the women and especially their eyes are riveting.
There are paintings, sculptures and a video of a musician’s making music inspired by this delightful assembly of new art at the Minneapolis Institute. It was a revelation to see. A long time in coming too. It’s a not to be missed show.
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen.
Wishing you all well. Peace
It’s amazing to see something so vivid in a quilt–gorgeous!
The detail is exquisite. It’s a masterpiece. The museum is showing more women and racially diverse artwork. 87% of collections are art from men.
