Birthday Celebrations are important in some cultures. In America people have big parties for kids and adults – sometimes even surprise parties! In Holland the person celebrating their birthday gives the party. In Japan, everyone has January 1st as their birthday! And so forth. Cake art!
What do we like about birthdays is CAKE! What an indulgence to have a nice cake. Fruit tarts, anyone?

The Bijenkorf (The Beehive) is an upscale department Store in Amsterdam. The store has its own bakery. And what a Bakery. These chocolate and strawberry are mini cakes. “From our own bakery, a fresh strawberry mousse on a light biscuit (cookie) Covered with a fresh fruit jelly, white chocolate and raspberry.” Love the butterflies made from chocolate on top!
