Thoughts At the Close of the Year 2020 = “One Brings Sorrow and the Other Brings Joy” – A Winter View

On Monday I drove by Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis. There were skaters dotted across the smooth ice. The wind was 35 miles per hour. With my phone I stepped out into the wind to snap a few pictures. The weather was overcast until a momentary glimpse of sun in a southward direction. The skaters seemed not to mind the blustering wind, which blew my hand around as I took photos.

As the year comes to a close I wish you peace and joy. People I cared about have passed away. Recently I went through some old correspondence and holiday cards. It became a revelation of love and friendship for me. My gratitude grew as did a deeper feeling of all the caring and love people have given me over the years.

With the deep loss bringing sorrow, my love and appreciation are renewed through the words and thoughts sent to me from the distant past.

Thanks for stopping by my kitchen.

Sending love to you and hope for healing in the coming year. The light will return.
