Dr-Rahul Adhav, Ph. D. Botany, Savitribai Phule Pune University (2017) Answers the question how the process of pollination works. Illustrated above. Retrieved 7-15-2020 from Quora.
“The pollination process involves the transfer of pollen, from the male part of a plant (in flowers, this is the ‘stamen’) to the female part of the plant (the ‘carpel’) by insects, birds, mammals, wind and water.”
THE POLLEN- NATION
Watching the microcosm of a bee at work fascinates me. The perspective of the bee doing a job that sustains not only the hive, but also the cycle of flowers continues without question. The bee doesn’t question the pursuit of pollen, the making of honey, or the feeding of the bee nymphs. He serves the hive tirelessly… for the good of all.
In the moment, I sense the drive of the bee who works rapidly before me to maximize the potential of pollen collection. Does the bee know that all this dedication to task is a link in the chain of sustaining life on this planet? The bees work of pollinating the plants that sustain my food and the plants that pleasure my eyes strikes me as miraculous. In this humble steady bee I see a wonder of the natural world.
This delicate balance,
This interdependence of all living creatures
in the cycle of life and death.
Is embodied in the life of this bee.

It worries me so much when I hear about the decimation of bee populations. People don’t realize how important they are to the food chain.
It’s a topic that is often on my blog. I have followed the bee die off since it first began. Thank you for caring.
