The other day, my Carolina friend asked me “How do you do it?”
LOL. I replied. (It was 27 degrees F – almost jacket weather)
Then I thought about “How do you do it?”.
Sunday it snowed, which means it warmed up. The trip downtown was fun. The streets were cloaked in pristine snow. The snow plow was working to clear the snow off as it fell. Here’s a view of that.
1. Dress in layers
2. Have good boots with traction
3. Be prepared for waiting at the bus stop
4. Have a snow perspective – this ain’t bad.
5. Remember that we are all in this together. LOL. And Have a sense of humor.
Winter is sometimes harsh with blowing snow and cold. Minneapolitans know what they are in for every winter. Many people fly south for the winter. There are enough people who enjoy winter who stay at home to do winter sports, like cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snow boarding, skating, skijoring, polar plunge, ice hockey, snowmobiling, ice sailing, curling, sled dog racing Up North and of course, ice fishing. There are lakes inside Minneapolis and parks. That’s where you can see people enjoying some of these sports.
For example, The National Pond Hockey Tournament was held here in January. It’s staged every year, Participants come from all over the country and from outside the USA to play.
Anyhow, schools are closed or delayed today in the metropolitan area because of the Wind Chill. Kids waiting for the bus in the outlying suburbs have to wait a long time for the bus. Frostbite happens i n10-15 Minutes. Those are dangerous conditions.
What do I do? I take photos and cook.
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen.
Have a happy day whatever your weather!
