The H. L. Hunley submarine was sunk in the Civil War. Clive Kussler the writer put together an underwater expedition to find the H. .L Hunley. Cussler was successful. “After fifteen years of searching, on May 3rd, 1995, New York Times best-selling author Clive Cussler and his team finally found the submarine.”
The recovered H. L. Hunley submarine is a huge attraction in Charleston at the Hunley Museum. For anyone interested in see the remains, the Museum has hands on information for Children and adults to enjoy.
Charleston is a major port for shipping. As you drive over the bridges to Charleston the port docks are clearly visible. It’s a fantastic view from the Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge.
We arrived at Cove Inlet at sunset. The sky changed colors very quickly at sunset. Suddenly a lone kayaker came into view while I was looking away from the open water and onto the marsh. There is a long view toward the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge which crosses the water from Mount Pleasant to Charleston.
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen
