Two weekends ago a friend asked me to go to “The Largest Candy Store in Minnesota”. The name that “Jim’s Apple Orchard” is know by is the former. We bought Honey Crisp apples to split at the end of our tour. They were the BESTEST honey Crisp that I have ever eaten.
It is open until right before Thanksgiving. I heard people wondering out loud what they do with all the unsold candies and everything else they sell?
More pictures and less words. (I took so many.) The walk into the store reveals a bright yellow series of connected buildings, AKA as the Big Yellow Barn.
Jim’s Apple Orchard & The Largest Candy Store In Minnesota
There is a section devoted to Root Beer. I sent a picture to my dear niece Sabina, who visited me some years ago and had her first Root Beer. It’s not a commonly beverage known in Holland. She loves it.
Then there is Hot Sauce section like you wouldn’t believe.
Candy and novelty candy – there are too many to name.
This is it for now. There are more photos to come, but candy overload is possible and all that glitters is Too Sweet in one go.
They have a Dutch cookie section. Please note the photo of the stroopwafel, which is a typical Dutch wafer cookie with caramel in between two light wafers. The Stroopwafel is pictured sitting on top of a cup of tea to warm it up. At this time of year, Stroopwafels can be found at Aldi stores or at Trader Joe’s in the USA. [Stroop sounds like rope in English with ST in front of it.]
Thanks for stopping by my kitchen.
Have a sweet day wherever you may be.
