A Peach Pie Recipe = Brown Sugar Peach Crumble Pie – Peach Season

My friend Carla makes jewelry. Carla and her husband Ron love to cook. I was wishing for a peach pie recipe, which Carla shared with me and I tried making this Brown Sugar Peach Crumble Pie this weekend. Carla combined two recipes that are linked to here below. At any rate, my effort took a lot of time.  Three hours to pull the recipe together.

  1. Made  dough for one crust* from this recipe: French Pastry Pie Crust
  2. Pealed and cut up peaches – 7 plus to make 4 cups then added sugar, tapioca, spices, and lemon juice and mixed gently and let stand.
  3. Then rolled out the dough, placed it in the pie dish and crimped the edges. finished with taking a fork and gently pricking the pie shell bottom.
  4. Made the crumble.  Spooned the peaches into the 9 inch pie shell and topped with the crumble. Baked according to recipe #1.

Gave most of the pie away to my neighbors, who help me out from time to time. And to Anna and Howard who have fed me many times. *Looked up proportions for making one pie crust because the recipe in the link#1 is for two crusts. Link #2 uses a pre-made crust.

Carla’s Recipe worked well. It takes time to make, but worth the effort.  Recipe #1 is the complete version and Recipe #2 is the shorter version of the recipe for Brown Sugar Peach Crumble Pie.
