Sunny Morning Flower Walk & Local Squirrels at Work

The Midwest is expecting more rain. It is a dire situation with flooding in Texas and Oklahoma with all time records of flooding.  After gloomy days of rain in Minnesota yesterday was sunny and in the 80s yesterday.  I rose early plugged in my camera battery, ate breakfast and headed out with my camera for a flower walk in my neighborhood. This time of year the irises, peonies, dandelions (good for wine making) and roses are in bloom. I stumbled on some gorgeous peonies. The early morning light has a quality all its own as the slanted rays of sun penetrate the day.  Here is what I found.

  1. This was fun to see! My yard is strange – I get my blooms at least a week after my neighbors, so my peonies and iris haven’t yet bloomed. I couldn’t believe how hot and humid it got although Gibson and I had a nice stroll and visited the dog park, when the rain hit it just seemed to get hotter and hotter! Thanks for bringing the lovely photos to FF!

Lovely photos! And love the last squirrel photo! 🙂

So beautiful, I agree the early morning light definitely captures the best in pictures – I find that the setting sun also works so well. Beautiful irises and peonies 🙂
