Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar in Oakland California

Once in a great while, I leave Minneapolis and enjoy food on the west coast.  Fine dining and local foods are nothing new in Northern California.  A restaurant that serves excellent food is Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar in Oakland California and located in Jack London Square.  A beautiful evening was spent on the water dining with old friends.  Our dinner spot was happily a sheltered terrace, on the water only fifty feet away from a statue of the writer Jack London.  We all enjoyed the meal at this restaurant, which was a generous treat from an old friend, that I won’t forget. The server was charming and a little confused at times, but the orders were delivered and plates cleared with professional attention.  The food was artfully prepared.  The taste of the appetizers and meal were equally artful and satisfying. The bread was superb. (Wish I could make that.)

My order of flounder with garlic mashed potatoes, a salad and a dessert of crème brûlée was fantastic – every bite was savored – because of the atmosphere, company and fine food, for me it was an evening to remember.
